What is Radianz® surface? Radianz® is a quartz surface that combines 93% natural quartz, one of the hardest minerals found in nature, with technologically advanced polymers. The result is a highly durable, highly functional, beautifully designed surface material with enough versatility to transform the look and feel of any home or business.
How durable is the Radianz® Surface? Can I use a knife to cut directly on it? Due to its natural quartz content, Radianz® is extremely durable and highly scratch resistant, but no work surface material is entirely scratch proof. Therefore you should always use a cutting board and avoid cutting directly on the surface.
Is Radianz® heat, scratch and stain resistant? Radianz® is highly resistant to heat, scratches and stains. Like most surfacing products, exposure to excessive heat can possibly damage the surface. We recommend the use of a trivet or hot pad to protect the surface from heated cookware (i.e. hot skillets or pans).
Is it safe to prepare food on a Radianz® surface? Because Radianz® Quartz is non-porous, it is the ideal material for hygienic kitchen work surfaces. When the work surface is properly maintained, the surface remains virtually bacteria-free for cooking and preparing food. Please refer to our Care and Maintenance page for more information. * Note: leaving food residue and chemicals on the surface to air-dry can result in a stubborn stain unless rinsed immediately with water.
What does “virtually maintenance free” mean? The non-porous nature of Radianz® surfaces allows it to be categorised as "virtually maintenance free". That means it doesn’t need to be sealed, and cleaning the surface with mild detergents and water, or glass cleaner, on a regular basis (follow our Care and Maintenance guidelines) is sufficient to maintain its beauty and shine.
Do I need to seal the work surface regularly? No, a Radianz® surface never needs to be sealed.
What is the 15-year limited Residential warranty? During the first ten years after the date of initial installation, Samsung, at its option, will repair or replace without charge, any products that have failed due to any manufacturing defect. Please refer to our Warranty page for details and specific policies. Outdoor applications of Radianz® are not covered under the warranty.
How does Radianz® compare to other natural stones such as granite or marble? We thought you’d never ask. Radianz® offers more colour consistency than granite, so it has homogeneous colour, depth, and texture throughout the whole work surface. While granite and marble work surfaces need to be sealed and waxed regularly, the non-porous surface of Radianz® makes the product virtually maintenance-free, more resistant to bacteria and highly stain resistant.
